Dementia Care Partnership (DCP) is a leading NE based charity providing quality care and support to people with dementia, other degenerative neurological disorders and acquired brain injury for over 20 years. We offer up to 24 hour home support, independent living houses and day services. Following implementation of a major restructuring and change programme, designed to improve the quality of our service and provide better support to our staff and clients, we are looking to recruit to the following frontline care positions:

YOU MUST BE: Person centred – have a genuine interest in caring for and working with people with dementia; Willing to put the needs of the client first and be adaptable – including working early morning, evening and weekend shifts on a rota basis; A good communicator – who can understand the needs of people with complex behavioural needs and use your skills and experience to support people to remain independent, enjoy life and have positive experiences; Keen to build on your good understanding of caring for people to become a specialist in dementia.
We are recruiting now for the following positions to work across all our services in the Newcastle area:
Support Workers: expected earnings £15,000-£18,000 pro rata – various 20, 30 and 40 hour contracts - NVQ2 minimum. You must have worked at least one year in personal care for people who are elderly, have behavioural problems or who are physically demanding.
Support Assistants: expected earnings £13,000 to £16,000 pro rata various 20, 30 and 40 hour contracts. No experience is required as full training will be given but you will be required to do domestic work, shopping, take people on outings and some personal care.
Transport Escorts: £6.30 an hour, 2 hours a day during the following time slots 8.30 – 10.00 and 4.30 – 6.30 from various locations.
Dementia Specialist Workers x 5: £21,750pa including car allowance and on call payment, 40 hours per week. This role will provide a pro-active, leading role in ensuring we provide high quality, person-led support to our clients and to our partner organisations. You will need at least two year’s experience of delivering quality elderly persons’ care in a health and social/care setting plus two years supervisory experience.
We are also looking for the following staff to strengthen our central team, based at our head office in Brunswick Village, Newcastle upon Tyne:
Best Practice Manager: £27,478 to £33, 145 pro rata, 3 days per week. This is a critical role which will aim to support the development of our cutting edge dementia support services, including responsibility for leading a programme of continuous improvement in quality support delivery, collaborating in internal audits and research in the dementia field. You will have at least 5 years’ experience of working in the dementia field gained either in a health or social care setting. You will have knowledge of legislation, policies and research in the dementia field gained through degree level training.
Operations Coordinator: £18,578 to £23,397, 37 hours per week on a shift pattern, including some weekend and on call work. Working in a team of three people, this role will run our rostering system for staff and arrange the delivery of over 3000 hours of support to over 300 clients throughout our services. You will have three years’ experience of working in an operational context delivering complex resource allocation plus professional knowledge acquired through a relevant degree or specialist training.
Administration Assistant: £15,856, 37 hours per week. Working in a team of three people this role will cover a wide range of administrative tasks and customer service functions. Must have at least an NVQ3 in Business Administration, good IT skills and experience of working in an office environment.
