What’s new at DCP

At Dementia Care Partnership (DCP) we believe that a person who experiences dementia or other mental health problems, such as depression, should not be making their journey alone. We try to walk alongside you,  your carers and your family, learning with you about your needs, your hopes and aspirations.

The journey we have taken since 1998, with a group of carers and people with dementia, became out vision - to be the market leader in offering replicable, specialist and alternative services in dementia and mental health care.  Developing and delivering services people want became our mission.

We learned with you that in order to achieve a quality of life, these three basic needs are very important:

    • To have someone to love and be loved in return.  At DCP you are never alone, and there are opportunities to make friends if you want to.
    • To have somewhere to live and a place that becomes your home.  Through our services we support you so that you can live independently in your own home, or look for alternatives such as supported living options.
    • To have some things to do. Growing older or having an illness, does not stop us from pursuing previous interests, activities and hobbies or take up new ones. At DCP you can choose from many leisure and learning activities or take up new challenges.

Your illness may be devastating and life might change but there are positive things in life. Whatever your illness, you do not have to be alone. We are here to take the journey with you and be your voice if you want us to.

From a Carer
3.00 am – not again! Another roast dinner to eat, made by my wife for our children who left the nest long ago.  My frustration and despair soon melted away when she beamed at me and her smile said “I can still do it!” (carer)
