Benefits for our staff

We offer competitive rates of pay, guaranteed hours contracts, fully-funded comprehensive training and a range of additional employment benefits.

Competitive Pay

We offer competitive hourly rates for care work in the North East, with double time at Christmas and New Year, time and a half on Bank Holidays and paid travel time between calls. Successful candidates would be subject to an enhanced DBS check, paid for by Dementia Care.

Guaranteed hours contracts

Wherever possible, all care staff can choose between a 20 hour, 30 hour or 40 hour contract. Zero hour contracts are available to employees who request them, and may also be offered until the requested guaranteed contracted hours are available. Hours will be averaged on a 2 week rotation basis (e.g. on a 40 hour contract, week 1 would involve approx. 35 hours and week 2 would involve approx. 45 hours). All employees are required to work every other weekend. There is also the opportunity to work additional hours.

Pension

We provide a defined contribution NEST Pension Scheme, with 1% of salary paid by the employer, matched by the employee.

Holidays

For a 40 hour contract you would get 28 days’ (224 hours’) paid holiday (including Bank Holidays). Corresponding paid holidays are provided for shorter contracts.

Childcare Vouchers

A Salary Sacrifice Scheme that offers parents a way of paying for registered childcare, whilst saving money in Tax and National Insurance (NI). These savings cut the cost of your childcare if you are paying for registered childcare for children aged up to 16 years. Registered childcare can include nurseries, crèches, childminders and nannies, out of school clubs, holiday play schemes and school boarding costs.

Fully Funded Specialist Training including NVQs

As a specialist care provider, we ensure that our staff are fully trained to deliver the highest standards of dementia care. Click here for information about our Learning and Development.
